If you're looking for a truly unforgettable and immersive art experience, you have to check out teamLab Planets. Located in the heart of Tokyo, this unique art-scape offers visitors a chance to leave the concrete jungle behind and become enveloped into a world of beauty and serenity.
As soon as you step inside teamLab Planets, you'll find yourself transported to a realm where the boundaries between the physical and digital worlds dissolve. The entire space is designed to create a sense of wonder and curiosity, with dim lighting there is an otherworldly ambiance when you commence your journey. The soft, ethereal music that fills the air further enhances the surreal atmosphere, heightening your senses and preparing you for the immersive experience ahead.
Discover a World of Wonder
It's a place where art comes to life and you become a part of it. The entire space is filled with interactive installations that respond to your movements, creating a truly dynamic and engaging experience.
One of the highlights of teamLab Planets is the Infinite Crystal Universe exhibit. As you enter this mesmerizing installation, you'll find yourself surrounded by thousands of LED lights that twinkle and change colors in response to your presence. It's a truly breathtaking sight that will leave you in awe.
Another must-see exhibit is the Floating in the Falling Universe of Flowers. Here in this domed room, lay down and drift off to sleep as flowers cascade past in a symphony of mesmerizing sights and sounds.
Walking into the Floating Flower Garden, you are surrounded by live orchid flowers that react to your presence with graceful movements and bursts of color. Each step you take sends ripples through the landscape, causing flowers to sway and lift.
One of the most popular exhibits at teamLab Planets is the Koi pool where you wade through knee deep warm water as a cacophony of colored koi swim past your feet. This is a truly unforgettable experience and my daughter exclaimed 'there is nothing better than this!"
A few tips before you go.
Book several days in advance as it gets booked out
Buy skip the line tickets.
Wear pants that roll up above your knee.
Be careful if you wear a skirt as some of the floors are mirrored!
You can go through the exhibition a number of times, you need to go through at least twice to fully absorb everything so allow at least two hours here.
Look for the secret rooms.
